Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Mr. 2. This character possesses the power to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve touched with their right hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that figure re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the live-action show, differing from the original manga and anime.
This performer joins multiple new cast members tasked with bringing the organization to life, featuring chief Mr. 0, portrayed by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who is also part of the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.
Though this character is a key figure of the organization, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Given season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this represents a notable change in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the narrative framework.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
